Kate grew up on the Salish Sea, left for a few years to try out her sea legs on the East Coast, and then came back to the water she calls home. She has a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the University of New England and a master's degree in Earth and Climate Science from the University of Maine. Despite her earthy-sounding degrees though, she's passionate about the ocean and has worked in outdoor education on sailboats since 2015.

Over the past decade, Kate has fostered a skillset around science communication. Her strengths lie in digital media and storytelling, and she also has years of experience in community outreach. Kate is excited to bring fun facts and inspiring patient stories to your local beach, community festival, and favorite social platforms.
