James Powell

Response Program Manager

James has been a member of the SR³ team since 2017 and serves as the Response Program Manager supporting our marine mammal stranding, entanglement, rehabilitation, and research activities.

He started his career with NOAA's Marine Mammal Health and Stranding Response Program in Charleston, South Carolina, and has more than 15 years of marine wildlife research experience in a diverse range of topics. In addition to post-mortem examinations and forensic work, James has experience responding to live stranding cases, out-of-habitat relocations, disentanglement efforts, and capture-release health assessments.
